TEAM AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Team members may each be individually wonderful, and the team can still be ineffective and make
bad decisions. Improving team processes and communications patterns, sometimes in the form of immediate situational feedback,
improves team performance and benefits the whole organization.
Team development programs also provide an opportunity for team members to
develop as leaders both in the group and in larger oganization. Team development is often paired with one-on-one coaching
to support the team and the individual.

HOW IS THE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
CONDUCTED?
The focus is on how the team interacts,
makes decisions, and resolves differences, so team development programs are conducted in the context of team meetings, not
in the isolation of a classroom or training center. Materials for each group are customized and presented only when they apply
to the group and its interactions. Skills training is included if the need is identified by a team interaction.
WHAT DOES THE PROCESS INCLUDE?
- Using interviews and assessments to identify differences in individual learning
and communications styles that might contribute to disagreements.
- Identifying issues that divide the team, prevent it from developing trust, and limit effectiveness.
- Observing team dynamics and providing real-time feedback on
ways to improve.
- Suggesting and
supporting more effective patterns of interaction.
